"All Together Now" is a song that appears in the Yellow Submarine soundtrack. It was written primarily by Paul McCartney but was credited as Lennon/McCartney. It was recorded on May 12, 1967 but wasn't released until almost two years later on January 13, 1969 in the US and on January 17, 1969 in the UK.

OriginEdit

The song was written, as described by McCartney, as a children's sing-along. The title comes from the music hall tradition of asking the audience to join in and also that "we are all together now."

RecordingEdit

The song was not released until almost two years after its recording despite only taking six hours to record in nine takes and being mixed on the same day.
